Roy (1909-1987) and Amanda (1908-1992) Dahl
Uncle Roy was the sixth born child of Sam & Mary Dahl on April 20, 1909. He married Amanda Skogaas Feb 23, 1935. They didn't have any children. He was a carpenter and day laborer. I had a lot of good times with Roy and Amanda. He would do a lot of complaining, but he would always help me clean the chicken coop.

Alvina (1912-1993) and Alfred (1915-1987) Dahl
Alfred was born Jun 24th, the youngest and eighth child of Sam & Mary Dahl. I believe Alvina and Alfred were married in December of 1945. They have one daughter, Janice. In the middle sixties, Alfred was diagnosed as having Parkinson's disease. They sold out and moved to town in the fall of '68. Alvina died of a heart attack in 1993.

Pictured is John Fuhr and Joshua Barker with John's new 1993 8960 John Deere four wheel drive tractor. Whenever Josh comes to our house he always asks what John Fuhr is doing. He is the guy who rents our land - puts in the crops and helps me whenever I need it. This 8960 tractor has a 400 Hp Cummins Diesel engine. It is the biggest tractor John Deere makes. John has another 4-wheel 8560. I think this is about the 230 Hp JD engine.

This is Adam, Kelly and myself. The Allis Chalmers is the tractor Dad bought in 1936. In comparison, this tractor has about 20 HP 4 cylinders. Dad thought it was quite a tractor in its day. I can't comprehend what machinery will be 20 years from now.

(This one isn't in his book, but ... )

Porcelin Camels - Hand Painted - Made in Japan
There's a round green stamp on the bottom that says "Hand Painted" and "Made in Japan".
They have been around since the mid-40's at least.
I believe them to be from pre-war Japan, but I don't know.
Approximate size - 8" long, 5" high.
Does anyone know anything about them?
